Kurtz Auction and Realty was established in 1945 by George M. Kurtz.  George, a University of Kentucky Agriculture Graduate began conducting auctions for the Pure Breed Cattle Associations in the South Eastern United States.  Soon he began selling real estate at auctions, predominatly in Kentucky, Illinois, and Indiana.

In 1979 Kelly Kurtz Goetz and her husband Jim bought Kurtz Auction and Realty and continued the selling tradition.  While offering all auction services, the company specialized in farm land, estates and residential sales.

In the past three years Kelly and Jim have been the lead auctioneers selling over 20,000 acres at auctions.
